Salman Khan has been in a generous mood lately. On Monday night, he gifted his Bodyguard co-star Raj Babbar a Merc!
It was a belated birthday gift for the star politician after the shoot of the film wrapped up in Patiala. Babbar’s birthday was on June 23.
Says a source, “Raj Babbar was taken by surprise. He was, in fact, shocked when he saw the vehicle.”
The car is silver in colour and the number plate adds up to five the number Babbar prefers.
Sallu along with his sister Alvira and her hubby Atul Agnihotri (Bodyguard’s producer) had been planning the surprise for the past fortnight.
When asked about Sallu’s gesture, Raj Babbar’s daughter Juhi says, “Yes, Bhai did gift dad a car.”
The star MP had been roped in Bodyguard at the last minute to essay the role of Kareena Kapoor’s father. He had replaced Shatrughan Sinha, who cited a busy schedule and opted out of the project.
Adds the source, “It was also, Sallu’s way of showing his gratitude to Babbar, who had agreed to be part of the film at such short notice.”
Interestingly, the Babbar-Khan friendship goes a long way. Babbar and Sallu’s father Salim Khan have know each other for decades.

Priyanka Chopra is all set to gyrate to a Sajid-Wajid number in Tezz
Aamir Khan did it for Delhi Belly. Ranbir Kapoor is all over television shaking his hips to the Tain Tain Phissh promotional item number from Chillar Party and now, Priyanka Chopra too doesn’t want to be left behind.
The actress, who had earlier appeared in an item number with Shah Rukh Khan in Billu is all set to sway her sexy self for an item number in Priyadarshan’s forthcoming film Tezz, starring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut.
If all goes well, Priyanka Chopra will be doing her first solo item number in the Ratan Jain produced venture later this year. The actress had stated in a media interview in late 2010, “I have never done one (item number), and I don’t think I will be doing one either.”
But with item numbers being the talking points in films these days, the actress seems to have changed her mind. “She will soon hear the song. Ratan Jain, the producer has spoken to her secretary and Priyanka has shown keen interest in the item song as well,” revealed a source, talking about the dance number in Tezz, which might be the actress’ first ever solo item song.
The song in question has been composed by Sajid-Wajid. A source close to the film, “Priyanka’s dance in Tezz will be as sexy as Malaika Arora Khan’s Munni act in Dabangg and Katrina Kaif’s Sheila in Tees Maar Khan.”

Bipasha Basu has got her navel pierced. The actress, hence, won’t be able to hit the gym for a few days.
The actress is already among the sexiest ladies of Bollywood, and after navel piercing is sure to slide up on the list. Bipasha revealed on her Twitter page how she has always wanted to get her navel pierced but never had the pluck to do so.

These days, Anushka Sharma is wearing on her ring finger a big diamond rock…So, is she engaged?
At the screening of one of the recent film releases, Anushka was spotted wearing the finger accessory, which she knew would stir up the gossip mills into action. In fact, it seemed, she was using her left hand too often.
Her manager said, “Anushka isn’t going around or engaged, to clear the air.”

Now, this could be a veritable test of Salman Khan’s true grit. Brother Sohail Khan wants to put Salman Khan face-to-face with a real tiger while shooting his film Sher Khan.
Since the film touches upon the subject of wild life and the poaching of animals, it will be shot in the forests of Thailand with real animals. Sohail will also rely on visual effects and animatronics for many scenes.
Sohail Khan explains that a trained tiger will be hired for many scenes with Salman Khan. For the shots that require Salman’s close-up with the tiger, special effects will be used to create the tiger. For wide-angle shots, the real tiger will be used.
So far only the first draft of the film’s script is ready. Sohail says work is now underway on the storyboard after which he will take the call if the film should be made in 3D, as proposed, or not.
However, before beginning to shoot the film, Salman Khan will have to take special lessons from expert animal trainers in Thailand. After all, being with a tiger is no easy task, even for a spunky fellow like Salman.
Though it’s still time for the film to go on the floors, it’s worth one’s while to imagine Salman and a tiger face-to-face, staring into each other’s eyes. Who will b

After Minissha Lamba, Bipasha Basu, and Mallika Sherawat’s brother, the latest name to join the bandwagon of actors detained at the sirport for carrying undeclared goods is Band Baaja Baraat actress Anushka Sharma. Anushka was allegedly carrying undeclared jewelary with her while she was returning from Toronto after attending the IIFA awards.
Dia Mirza was along with her when she was being questioned and she expressed her displeasure with the attitude of the customs department towards the celebrities.
“Considering the news of their detainment leaks out even before anyone outside knows of their arrival proves beyond a doubt that someone in there (at the airport) loves the attention,” she said.
“This time, when I was headed to Toronto, I probed as to why I wasn’t provided a (Customs) certificate. I was told by the Customs officer that they do not evaluate jewellery as they are not equipped to,” she said.
Mirza added, “I was there when Anushka was being questioned and I know for a fact that she was carrying scanned images of every item of jewellery and letter of evaluation from the sponsored jeweller. What she did not have was a Customs certificate, which she tried to avail, but was not given. In fact, the officer at the departure gate told many of us to wear all our jewellery on arrival to avoid questioning.”..

The movie will also have Esha in a special song that will be played in the end during the credit roll. The song is none other than the popular track from the blockbuster movie ‘Sholay’ (”Jab Tak Hai Jaan”..) which was picturized on Hema and Dharmendra and happens to be Esha’s favorite. Once Hema purchases the rights for this song, the shooting will be started. The song will also feature Hema and Dharmendra along with Esha, of course.....
